Cognyte’s LUMINAR Recognized by Gartner® as an Example Vendor for Threat Intelligence

The cyber threat landscape is evolving at an unprecedented pace, posing significant challenges for organizations worldwide. As cyber threats become more sophisticated, SOC teams are finding it increasingly difficult to keep up, often hampered by a shortage of skilled personnel. The increasing complexity of threats and resource constraints make it more critical than ever for organizations to strengthen their threat intelligence (TI) capabilities.
To help security leaders with this challenge, Gartner has published their Emerging Tech: The Future of Cyberthreat Intelligence research. This new report highlights the latest trends in generative AI (GenAI) technologies impacting the threat intelligence domain and can help CISOs and security leaders effectively plan their strategic investments and technology roadmap.
We are proud that the Gartner Emerging Tech research recognizes LUMINAR as an example vendor in the threat intelligence domain.
LUMINAR is Cognyte’s AI-powered external threat intelligence solution that empowers security and risk management leaders with comprehensive visibility into their external threat landscape.
One of the key themes emphasized in Gartner’s research is the growing importance of AI-powered data analytics and reporting, as well as GenAI-enhanced search and investigation capabilities.
Gartner predicts that “by 2027, AI/GenAI will enhance TI solutions with automated search and reporting capabilities.” As per the research, this will be driven by several key trends:
- Limited availability of resources and staff with relevant skill sets – Gartner states that “interest in GenAI-based capabilities will become key as this technology will support faster mean time to respond (MTTR) by more quickly providing indicators about threats and the surrounding context.”
- Increasing threat complexity – according to Gartner “threat actors’ use of more advanced AI-enabled social engineering to target victims will make security professionals’ jobs more challenging. This will drive interest in finding faster ways to support security data analysis and correlation; such solutions are enabled by GenAI technology and preemptive (preventative) defense postures.”
LUMINAR’s GenAI capabilities accelerate resource intensive tasks like aggregation, analysis and prioritization of alerts, investigation leads, indicators of malicious campaigns, and other cybersecurity inputs. This enables users to focus on relevant threats, classify and triage findings, gain faster insights and prioritize tasks effectively, thus improving overall efficiency.
With embedded GenAI capabilities, users benefit from:
- False positives detection: LUMINAR automatically filters out false positives and highlights only relevant threats to your organization
- Threat prioritization: LUMINAR automatically prioritizes threats and assigns risk scoring based on relevance
- Automatic classification: LUMINAR automatically categorizes findings according to threat vectors
The Gartner research also emphasizes the importance of organizations adopting a Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM) strategy, and the need for threat intelligence solutions to provide external attack surface management (EASM) and vulnerability intelligence capabilities. Gartner states that market needs require “closely integrated TI, EASM and vulnerability intelligence capabilities to better support discovery of exposed assets and prioritization of the most critical threats.”
LUMINAR’s platform supports security and risk teams in executing a CTEM strategy, providing one unified solution to cover all needs across cyber threat intelligence, EASM, vulnerability intelligence and digital risk protection (DRP).
